I Live in Patterns is an album that chronicles Taylor Janzen’s past few years, and learning to live with the emotional patterns that surfaced. She saw the world shutting down shortly after the release of her 2019 EP Shouting Matches and then a return to touring with both X Ambassadors and Del Water Gap. Since then Taylor has shared singles “Something Better,” “Push it Down” and “Designated Driver,” which along with seven new tracks, will makeup her debut album.

Taylor offers more on the album; “I Live in Patterns has been a long time in the making. It is an encapsulation of my growth as an artist and a human over the past couple of years. While making this record, I realized how episodic and repetitive my own struggles can feel and while certain things may get better over time, I don't know if they ever fully go away. While those struggles may fade or improve over time, they often present like an old injury that acts up every once in a while, like emotional patterns rather than a complete, linear thing of the past. The album is an exploration of learning to accept my own set of emotional patterns and how to adjust around them, rather than fight them. Whether that means accepting that some aspects of my brain chemistry are not leaving any time soon, or recognizing that certain things I learned as a child may always have a part of me, I believe that it is important work for my own artistic and personal journey.”
