Gord Downie, The Sadies, And The Conquering Sun stands as an emphatic arrival, the mission statement of a band possessed, unhinged with the visceral exultation of punk rock as its pulse. The fusion, and brotherhood, of giants Gord Downie, Dallas Good, Travis Good, Mike Belitsky, and Sean Dean, the band is, was, will forever be a heavily spirited exploration of the darkness at the fringe of daylight, brimming with fire and electricity across all ten of the timeless songs from their 2014 debut self-titled album. From the fiery landfall of "Crater" across the spectral desertscape of "Budget Shoes" through to the shimmering quietude of closer "Saved," The Conquering Sun is the combustion of The Sadies' rusted, indelible psychedelia with Downie's comma-perfect poetry and volatile wail – in everlasting fashion. Now 10 years since its original release, this crowning collaboration is celebrated with a special Limited Edition vinyl pressed on Smoky Marble coloured wax.
