"Easy" is the first single from Ellevator's upcoming debut album coming in early 2022. Produced by Death Cab For Cutie's Chris Walla, the Canadian three-piece represents a new generation of indie-rock, trimmed down and re-imagined as brand new. Listeners will be reminded equally of Tegan and Sara, Death Cab For Cutie, and Stars. Fittingly, they've found a home on Arts & Crafts, the record label that helped define the sound of the era. Sonically, the guitars scream, the riffs rock and the synths provide deep textures throughout this varied album. The centrepiece of this collection is the standout vocals of front-woman Nabi Sue Bersche and her poetic reflections on love, connection, and identity. For a time in Bersche's youth, she was a member of what could be described as a cult. "Easy" is a rumination on the good and evil things we are raised to believe.
