Broken Social Scene's 4th studio album, 'Forgiveness Rock Record', called "their second straight-up masterpiece" by PopMatters, was released in 2010 and produced by Tortoise's John McEntire. With contributions from Leslie Feist, James Shaw and Emily Haines of Metric, Sam Prekop of The Sea and Cake, Sebastian Grangier of DFA 1979, and Pavement's Spiral Stairs, the Guardian noted that with "so many talents" the album was "practically bursting at the seams." With songs ranging from post-rock instrumentals to atmospheric pop to the cathartic indie anthems, the record is teeming with memorable singles like "Sweetest Kill", "Forced To Love", and "World Sick."
